- Metrolink is the way in: the Etihad Campus stop is right by the stadium, and trams from Manchester Piccadilly take under ten minutes. Expect a queue to board after the show.
- Walking from the city centre takes about 35 minutes from Piccadilly through Ancoats, and is often quicker than the post-show tram queue.
- From the rest of the UK, trains arrive at Manchester Piccadilly, and Manchester Airport has direct trains into Piccadilly.
Where to stay
Shared by every event in this building. Which tier is worth it changes with the event — a fight weekend and a Sunday league game price the same room very differently — but the geography does not.
City centre
Northern Quarter, Piccadilly and Ancoats
Walkable to the stadium or a short tram ride, with the most rooms in the city. Ancoats is the closest neighbourhood with hotels.
Value
Salford Quays and MediaCity
On the same Metrolink line as Etihad Campus, so no change on the way in, and usually cheaper than the centre on a big weekend.
Out of town
Stockport or the airport hotels
A short train into Piccadilly, and the fallback when the centre is full on a Friday or Saturday show.
Make a trip of it
The Northern Quarter is the pre-show pub run, the National Football Museum is in the city centre, and the Manchester City stadium tour runs on non-event days.
