Go — getting there
- No station at the track. Train to Milton Keynes Central (35 min from London Euston), then official race-day shuttle or pre-booked taxi (~30 min). Book shuttles ahead — they sell out.
- Driving: the classic move, but plan your car park colour and exit route; leaving Sunday takes 1–2 hours. Arrive before 8am for a sane run in.
- Many regulars camp — Silverstone Woodlands and the independent farm campsites around the perimeter are half the experience of the British GP.
Stay — where to sleep
Camp
Silverstone Woodlands (official)
Zero transport stress, full race-weekend atmosphere, live music. The default choice for first-timers who want the real thing.
Town base
Milton Keynes hotels
Biggest hotel stock in shuttle range and the best value; MK rates still double on GP weekend — book at calendar release.
Comfort
Whittlebury Hall
Spa hotel that backs onto the circuit — you can walk in. Books out a year ahead; set an alert for cancellations.
Make a trip of it
The Silverstone Interactive Museum is genuinely good for a rain-delay morning. Woodlands' Thursday night is the quiet one to arrive on.
