When is Bahrain GP 2027?
Not confirmed yet. The window above — Spring 2027 — is our expectation based on where this event has landed in previous years, not an announced date.
The 2027 F1 calendar is not published. Bahrain has opened or near-opened recent seasons in spring — confirm the date against the official calendar before booking anything at all.
We’ll email you the day it is official. One message when the date is confirmed, telling you when tickets go on sale and what the room rates did last time. No weekly newsletter, and you can leave in one click.
What it is
A permanent circuit in the desert southwest of Manama, run in the evening under lights. Bahrain is the antidote to street-circuit processions: long straights into heavy braking zones, multiple genuine overtaking places, and a surface that punishes tyres enough to force real strategy. It rarely produces a dull race, which is more than can be said for several far more glamorous stops.
Tickets
This is the value pick of the flyaway races and the numbers are not close. Flights are short-haul-plus rather than long-haul, there is no meaningful jet lag, hotel rates are a fraction of Singapore or Las Vegas, and grandstand tickets sit well below what an equivalent seat costs in Europe. If the ambition is to see a Grand Prix abroad without the trip costing four figures before the ticket, this is the one to price first.
Inventory is rarely tight. There is little reward for booking the ticket early here — the flight is the line that moves.
Compare before you buy: the same seats are routinely 10-20% apart between marketplaces once checkout fees land. Price every one of them, and compare the all-in total at checkout rather than the listing price:
Best for: A global resale marketplace - worth pricing against the bigger two, and often the one still holding seats for European fixtures
Buyer fees are added at checkout, so compare the final total rather than the listing price
Best for: Official event packages pairing a seat with a hotel, strongest on European F1 and tennis
Prices are per package and shown in the local currency; check what the seat category actually includes
| Where you sit | Cheap end | Typical | Top end |
|---|---|---|---|
| General admission | £90 | £150 | £240 |
| Grandstand | £220 | £380 | £650 |
| Hospitality | £1,500 | £2,600 | £4,800 |
Where to stay
Which part of Sakhir you sleep in moves the total more than the seat usually does, and the cheap bed an hour out stops being cheap on the day. The tiers below are what actually works for this building.
Zallaq, on the southwest coast
Beach resorts fifteen minutes from the circuit. Quiet, and the shortest run to the gates on race day.
Manama city centre or Juffair
Where the bars, restaurants and race-week events are. Half an hour out, and far more to do on the non-race evenings.
Seef or Muharraq
Business-district and airport-side hotels at weekday rates even during race week.
Getting there
- The circuit is about 30 km southwest of Manama and there is no rail. Official shuttles run from the main hotel districts and are the sane option; taxis are plentiful but surge hard after the flag.
- Bahrain is small enough that where you stay barely affects travel time — almost everywhere is 30-40 minutes from the gates. Choose on price and on whether you want a licensed bar.
- From the UK there are direct flights of about seven hours, and it is one of the few flyaway races with no meaningful jet lag — Bahrain is two or three hours ahead depending on the season.
Make a trip of it
Check where Ramadan falls that year before you book. It moves annually and it changes what is open, what is served and when — not a reason to avoid the trip, but a bad thing to discover on arrival.
Thinking bigger than this one?
The same maths runs a lot further than you would expect. A Grand Prix in Las Vegas, a Sunday at the Raiders or WrestleMania weekend costs less than most people assume once the flight is the only unusual line — and we have costed all of them, flights and ESTA included, from real trips rather than research.
