What it is
Competition days run Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September 2027, with practice days from the Monday before. Ireland's first Ryder Cup since 2006 will be a national event — expect the loudest, greenest, most partisan galleries the event has seen in Europe. Fifty thousand a day walk the Fazio-redesigned parkland at Adare, and unlike stadium sport your day is a roaming one: pick matches, camp a grandstand at the 1st tee at dawn, or follow one session end to end.
Seat — tickets
Tickets sell through Ryder Cup Europe's official ballot, entered well in advance — competition-day tickets at face are ballot-or-nothing for most fans, and demand for an Irish edition will be historic. Resale opens at roughly double face and climbs toward the Sunday singles. The honest value: practice days. They are freely available, a fraction of the price, and for actually seeing the players hit shots at close range they are genuinely better than a competition Saturday spent twelve-deep at a green. If you buy competition days on resale, buy Friday — same event, lowest premium.
Enter the official ballot the moment it opens — that is the whole strategy. Resale premiums climb from announcement to Sunday singles with no historic dip.
Compare before you buy: the same seats are routinely 10-20% apart between marketplaces once checkout fees land. Check all three:

Stay — where to sleep
Limerick city centre hotels
The volume of beds is here, 25 minutes out, and the city's pubs will be the unofficial fan village all week. Rates will surge — but far less than anything within walking distance of Adare.
Ennis town or the Shannon corridor hotels
Smart triangle: 25-40 minutes to the course, right by the airport for the flight home, and County Clare's evenings are their own reward.
Adare's handful of inns — or the Manor itself
Adare has one street of thatched cottages and a few hundred beds; the Manor's rooms for Ryder Cup week are effectively hospitality-package territory. If money is no object, sleeping inside the ropes is the flex of 2027.
Go — getting there
- Shannon is the airport that makes this trip easy — 25-30 minutes from the course, direct flights from the UK and US East Coast. Dublin works but commits you to a 2h30 motorway run each way.
- Expect competition days to run on park-and-ride and shuttle systems only — the village of Adare is tiny, on one N21 road, and will be locked down. Build the shuttle time into tee-time plans.
- From Limerick city the N21 run is 20-25 minutes off-peak; event-day shuttles from the city are the likely official route and the sane choice over any private car plan.
- Rail: Limerick is the railhead (from Dublin Heuston ~2h15 with a change at Limerick Junction), then road or shuttle onward.
Make a trip of it
Fly to Shannon, not Dublin — 25 minutes to the course versus two and a half hours. Base in Limerick city for the week; its pubs will be the unofficial 19th hole every evening.
