Getting there

Everything hinges on the ferry. Wightlink and Red Funnel run from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington, and festival weekend is their busiest of the year -- book the crossing at the same time as the ticket, not after.
Foot passenger plus shuttle is cheaper and far less stressful than taking a car across. The car ferry costs several times more and you will not need the car once you are there.
From London: train to Portsmouth Harbour, walk onto the fast cat, and you are in Ryde in twenty minutes. Door to campsite in about three hours.

Shared by every event in this building. Which tier is worth it changes with the event — a fight weekend and a Sunday league game price the same room very differently — but the geography does not.

Make a trip of it

It is an island in June -- do not fly in and out for the music alone. The Needles, Osborne House and the beaches at Compton and Shanklin are all short drives, and the week either side of the festival is the cheapest time to see them.
