Getting there
- LA is a car city and Inglewood is no exception: there is no rail stop at the door. The Metro K line's Downtown Inglewood station is a 25-30 minute walk or a short shuttle on event days.
- Rideshare works but budget for it — surge after a big game is brutal, and the drop-off zones are a 10-15 minute walk from the gates. Leaving, walk 15 minutes away from the stadium before ordering the car.
- From the UK: direct London-LAX is 11 hours. Land, and you are closer to the stadium than to most of the city — an airport-corridor hotel is genuinely convenient here.
- Driving: parking must be pre-booked (no cash sales on the day) and the lots clear slowly. If you must drive, park in zone-adjacent lots and walk the last half mile.
Flying from the UK? Sort the ESTA first
British citizens travel to the US under the Visa Waiver Programme, which means no visa but a mandatory ESTA — an electronic travel authorisation you must hold before you board. Airlines will refuse boarding without one.
- Apply only at esta.cbp.dhs.gov — the official US Customs and Border Protection site. Dozens of copycat sites rank for “ESTA” and charge several times the government fee to type your details into the same form. There is no faster or better version; there is only the official one and resellers.
- Apply early, not at the airport. Most approvals come back in minutes, but CBP asks for at least 72 hours and a small share get referred for review. Do it when you book the flight, not the week you fly.
- It lasts two years, or until your passport expires, whichever comes first — so one application usually covers several trips. Check whether you already have a live one before paying again.
- An ESTA is permission to travel, not permission to enter. The decision is made by the officer at the border.
- Not everyone qualifies. Dual nationals of certain countries, anyone who has travelled to particular countries since 2011, and anyone with a prior visa refusal or certain convictions may need a full visa instead — which takes months, not minutes. Check before you book anything.
Fees and eligibility rules change, and the official site is the only place that is guaranteed current. We take no commission on any of this — there is none to take, which is rather the point.
Where to stay
Shared by every event in this building. Which tier is worth it changes with the event — a fight weekend and a Sunday league game price the same room very differently — but the geography does not.
Value (LAX corridor)
Airport hotels on Century Blvd
Unglamorous but 10 minutes from the stadium, direct airport access and the sanest rates on a big weekend. For a fly-in-fly-out event trip this is the smart play.
Mid (Culver City / Santa Monica)
Culver City boutiques or Santa Monica 3-4 stars
A real LA holiday base — beach, food, walkable evenings — 20-35 minutes from Inglewood outside rush hour. Book the ride windows around the event, not the distance.
Premium (Downtown / LA Live)
DTLA around LA Live
The nightlife-and-restaurants base, and where most of the surrounding events cluster on a Super Bowl week. 25-40 minutes to the stadium depending on traffic.
Make a trip of it
Do the beach day (Santa Monica to Venice on the boardwalk), Griffith Observatory at sunset, and if the Lakers or Clippers are home the same week, the Crypto.com and Intuit Dome arenas make it a two-game trip.
